Corning Incorporated
Headquarters Expansion
As
part of an already challenging project involving installation of
all electrical service in this 168,000 square-foot building, we
were given a special challenge - illuminate the expansive atrium
sitting like a crown jewel at the center of the building. The atrium
fefatures an arched glass roof supported by mullions lit with custom
made cold cathode lighting. Each mullion had to be precisely measured,
and every angle had to be traced to send to the manufacturer. This
painstaking process, performed on a lift 40 feet above the ground,
resulted in beautiful, yet highly functional lighting. Large projects
with small details - we welcome them!
Services
performed:
-
Custom-made cold cathode lighting installed along atrium mullions
- Custom
flourescent light fixtures installed on side walls
- Dimming
system installed for light levels ranging from dramatic to practical
